Dear Dr. Simon,
I'm sorry to give you messed up numbers of OLIKARD's dosage. 3 tab (40 mg) a day now is the correct figure. Don't you think I am already a good case to investigate the connection between
cardiac disorder and CML. I appreciate you're working on this problem. The cardiologysts I've contacted know little of this problem and are not prepared to take the risk. What about Monopril or am I confusing something?

Dear Eugene- the- grambler! Generally it is not advised to take mononitrates (Olicard, Monocinque etc. ) three or more times a day. Due to the specific pharmacokinetics and liver elimination profiles, frequent administration produces rapid nitrate tolerance with limited action. Thus, the interval before doses should be 8 hours or more for the sustained antianginal effect. As for the cardiac disease and CML – many things depend on the immunosuppressive treatment (in any) for the latter and there is no risk for coronary angiography. Why don’ t you visit us for an hour or two to make things clear. Sincerely, S. M. PS. Monopril is an ACE inhibitor just like Prestarium or Tritace with no apparent advantages.
